Informatics and Emerging Excellence in Education Collection

Title: "Audiovisual Innovation and the Cognitive Disintegration Resulting from Podcasts: A Social and Scientific-Technological Analysis Including Academic Education, Affective Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Human Corruption, and Machiavellian Narcissism"

Handbook Aims

Many of these podcasts have fostered cruelty subconscious, urban violence, workplace inbreeding, corruption of human capital, Machiavellian narcissism, fake news, negative emotions (e.g., envy, jealousy, anger, racism, frustration, stress, etc.), and other ills of modern societies, as can be seen in millions of pieces of content on social media. As is well known, the power of radio and the verticality of the broadcaster in alienating the masses were widely and tragically demonstrated during the two World Wars of the 20th century.

Hence the importance of investigating the use of this tool, from content generation (inclusion of subliminal messages, reliable translations, promotion of social fragmentation, transparency of services provided, realistic statistics about the users / subscribers / audience / content creators, and so on) to the psychological profile of the managers of podcast-oriented platforms, whether or not they are applying artificial intelligence in these audio-visual platforms and services.

Contrary to what one might initially think, the basic objective of this editorial project is to enhance the positive aspects of technological and interactive communication in the face of the advancement of artificial intelligence. In short, to highlight the manipulative, persuasive, Machiavellian, narcissistic, and psychopathic strategies of a human capital that has been corruptly trained and that today is connected to new technologies and the services derived from them, since artificial intelligence should be at the service of humankind, but not vice versa.

This is the central axis for generating the following list of topics, which will be addressed in this handbook of research. This does not preclude the inclusion of other topics of great impact or relevance (all of them are welcome). In short, the principal topics and subtopics covered include (alphabetical order):

 

 

Submissions:

Two-stage submission: First, interested researchers and practitioners are invited to submit a chapter proposal clearly stating your focused domain problems and contributions related to one of the above topics due on * Open *; second, authors of accepted proposals will be notified by "between two weeks after the submission/s" about the status of their proposals and sent chapter organizational guidelines. Full chapters are due by * Open *. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a triple-blind review basis. The handbook is scheduled to be published in 2026 by Blue Herons Editions (Canada, Argentina, Spain and Italy).

Chapter proposal guidelines:

The proposal is expected to be 2 - 4 pages, submitted in .doc or .pdf format, composed of title, author(s) (name, affiliation, phone number, and e-mail address), extended abstract (background, related work, principal contributions, references and so on), table of contents, and contact author/s. All enquiries and submissions can be forwarded to handbook@blueherons.net

Additional Notes:

1) Short Chapter: The longest extension of the text varies between 12 and 16 pages ('5,000 - 6,000 words). Long Chapter: The longest extension of the text varies between 24 and 30 pages (8,000 - 15,000 words). Exceptionally, the extension may be longer than this, but each additional page has a 25 euros cost (maximun 4 pages).

2) The chapters that have been positively evaluated by the reviewers (at least three), whose remarks or corrections –in the case there were, having been made by the authors, could be published in the handbook. The publication cost is 375 euros (short chapter) and 395 euros (long chapter), and the payment should be made through a bank transfer to the Blue Herons account, as it is next detailed:

3) All cancellations received in writing by November 27, 2026 will be fully refunded, less 35 euros which will be deducted for administrative expenses. No refunds will be made from November 28, 2026 onwards.

4) The author or authors will get only one a free copy of the handbook. The costs of certificated post and by airmail are at the expense of the author(s).

5) The author(s) can request more than a copy (until finishing the first edition) with a 40% special discount.
